Do The Old Testament People Miss Out On Heaven?

Can Old Testament people miss out on heaven because they don't know Jesus? Christians understand there is only one way for salvation and entrance into heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12, clearly states

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

What Does “John 3:16” Mean?

The pitcher throws the ball and the batter swings. The ball pops into the air and flies into the stands behind third base. The cameras follow the foul ball as a hard-core fan leaps up and catches his prize. While in the corner of the camera frame someone holds up a sign, “John 3:16.”

What does that mean to the masses watching the game? For the Christian who knows their Bible, it brings to mind the very core of the faith they hold dear.

What Happens To Our Sins?

What happens to our sins when they are forgiven? The Bible uses several ways to explain the separation of our sins from ourselves to relieve us of their burden.

The work Christ accomplished on the cross was prefigured in the Old Testament law through ritual cleansings. Lev 14:31, Lev 16:30 and Num 8:21 talks of cleansing a person of their sins through atonement. Psalm 51:2 says, “Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse me from my sin.” Here the cleansing is accomplished by a thorough washing.
